MEMBERSHIP:
Membership is by audition or
approval of the director. Singers are expected to have prior choral
experience and be able to learn music quickly and independently.
REHEARSALS:
Rehearsals are scheduled on Wednesday in blocks of 6 or
more weeks usually before Thanksgiving and before Easter. A singer must agree
to attend ALL rehearsals in the block in order to sing in the concert(s). One
absence is allowed per block of rehearsals upon approval by the director in
advance.
DUES:
Dues of $40 per block of rehearsals is
required of each singer and payable at the first rehearsal. This will include
the use of music to be rehearsed and the performance folder. Any singer who
chooses to be a sponsor with a minimum of $200 per year is exempt from dues.
Scholarships are available by contacting a board member.
UNIFORM:
A choir robe and cross will be
furnished to you before the first performance. A robe cleaning fee of $10 per
year must be paid at the beginning of the season. The cleaning of robes will be
done all at one time after they are turned in at the end of the Spring Concert
to assure the color remains the same. It may be designated by the Steering
Committee to wear a black tux for the men and a simple black dress with sleeves
any length for the women. The expense of this "costume" will be paid by the
singer.
